FILM TRENDING: OUR TAKE!

Here are my picks for the best 5 movies of this summer. There were a few great films and few flops but I will be adding these ones to my Blu-ray commection!

#5) “Jurassic World”: Sure it lacked the originality and charm of the first and didn't have the great characters, but it was still fun to watch. It lost it's footing in places and tried to outdo just about every scene from the first, but it was a fun ride. Chris Pratt is a joy to watch on screen, and the effects were good, even if a lot of the film was quite over the top. I appreciated the in your face nods to the original, but I will fully admit I am a sucker for big sound, great visuals and 3d. Don't worry; you'll never see a Michael Bay movie on my lists!

#4) “Man from U.N.C.L.E.”: What a lighthearted, stylized, entertaining Odd Couple movie! Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer played well off of each other, and each situation they were in was a story of its own. The soundtrack was a huge part of the film as well!

#3) “Ant-Man”: An entertaining superhero movie that is more comedy than action. Rudd holds his own as the newest member of the Marvel family. Not as action packed as other recent Marvel movies, which is a refreshing break.

#2) “Avengers: Age of Ultron”: While this second Avengers movie seemed to lack the flow of the first one, it did have some great characters, action and terrific geek wins! The casting in these movies is perfectly done and the actors have terrific chemistry! Marvel has proven that comic geeks are out there and far more common than once realized! We want more!

#1) “Mad Max: Fury Road”: Of all the movies on my list, “Mad Max: Fury Road” is the one I am most eager to see again and purchase on Blu-ray on its release. Action, action and more action, stunts, political awareness AND politically incorrect characters all in one! They didn't shy away from showing the horrors of a post apocalyptic world and the struggles to survive and adapt. Very strong and well-acted leads drove it home (pun intended). In the recent trend of reboots and sequels 20-30 years too late, this one lives up to, and exceeds the originals!

BLACK MASS: This could really be Johnny Depp's "comeback".

HARDCORE: The next innovative stage of filmmaking?

PAWN SACRIFICE: Tobey Maquire exudes the crazy of chessman Bobby Fischer and we can't wait!

Danny Boyle's "Steve Jobs" looks stylish and hard hitting! This is #1 on our fall release list.

Movies matter.
I mean, what else is there?
