FILM TRENDING: OUR TAKE!

1. “Ant-Man” -

This fun, quirky, action-packed installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the most pleasant surprise of the summer. A peek into the MCU’s dark past and the introduction of everyman Scott Lang are just a couple of the highlights within.

2. “Inside Out” -

Although I think it’s overall melancholy, and at times quite somber, this latest Disney/Pixar film is smart, well written and entertaining. More a play-it-safe, warm hug from Pixar than a risk-taking masterpiece like The Incredibles.

3. “Trainwreck” -

This almost-over-the-top comedy works really well as an offbeat rom-com and is surprisingly relatable. Amy Schumer is my new favorite comedy actor, and if she and Jennifer Lawrence really do make a movie I’ll be first in line.

4. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” -

Certainly not the best of the Marvel lot, “Ultron” does feature some great performances (James Spader, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson), plenty of action and key tie-ins to the MCU.

5. “Jurassic World” -

This soulless sequel to the Spielberg classic is a summer popcorn, action flick that suffers from a lack of storytelling and the wooden performance of Bryce Dallas Howard. Chris Pratt and fighting dinosaurs manage to save the day in the end.

BLACK MASS: This could really be Johnny Depp's "comeback".

HARDCORE: The next innovative stage of filmmaking?

PAWN SACRIFICE: Tobey Maquire exudes the crazy of chessman Bobby Fischer and we can't wait!

Danny Boyle's "Steve Jobs" looks stylish and hard hitting! This is #1 on our fall release list.

Movies matter.
I mean, what else is there?
